John,
While I don't recall ever meeting your father, I imagine he was a remarkable gentleman. I can say that because the same can be said of the son he raised.
God has special plans for all his children, on both sides of life. He is at peace now, after living an extraordinary journey here on Earth.
My thoughts are with you and your family.
