William H Seats

Mr. William “Tan” H. Seats 91, of Lewisville passed away peacefully on Sunday June 21st, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Seats was born on May 30th, 1924 in Forsyth County to the late Sidney Seats and Ethel Black Seats.  He graduated from Lewisville High School in 1943.  On December 21, 1955 he married Priscilla Wayne Hodge.  

He was a member and past master of West Bend Lodge 434 Lewisville.  He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.

He was a retired employee of Sparks Construction Company where he operated a motor-grader until the age of 82.

He had a life - long passion for bluegrass music and played multiple string instruments.  He enjoyed farming, spending time with family, and his dogs.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Seats was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years Priscilla Wayne Seats; four brothers Sidney Seats, John Seats, Hugh Seats, Worth Seats; four sisters Nell Langley, Adeline "Dean" Harbin, Elizabeth “Honey “Pilcher, and Mary O’Harrah.

Those left to cherish his memory are a son William Seats and wife Amy of Falcon; two daughters Tanya Pontillo and husband Greg of Clemmons, Tammy Boyd and husband Tom of East Bend; a brother Joseph “Ted” Seats of Lewisville ; a sister Frances Sisk of Winston-Salem ; two sister-in-laws Faye Seats and Jackie Seats both of Lewisville;  six grandchildren Savannah Boyd, William Boyd, Brent Pontillo, Joshua Pontillo, Kayley Pontillo, and Lynzee Seats; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank those who helped take care of “Tan” through the years.

A funeral service for Mr. Seats will be held on Wednesday June 24, 2015 at 12:00 pm at Union United Methodist Church in Lewisville with the Rev. Edwin Needham and Rev. Michael Flack officiating.  Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 pm on Wednesday, prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Union United Methodist Church cemetery fund.
