Mrs. Maggie Lucille Speer Hunt, 88, of East Bend, passed away on October 9, 2016 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center.

Mrs. Hunt was born on April 12, 1928 to the late Thomas and Minerva Mikles Speer. She was a very good cook who made many birthday and wedding cakes. She also enjoyed arts and crafts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Robert Hunt.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Barney Hunt and wife Shirley of East Bend, three brothers: Leroy Speer and wife Pansy, Denny Speer and wife Sharon, Merle Speer and wife Judy, all of East Bend; a sister Aggie Smitherman of East Bend, two grandchildren: Lisa Hobson and husband Danny, Ginger Beane and husband James; four great-grandchildren Cole Hobson, Crista Hobson, Morgan Beane and Logan Beane.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hunt will be held at 2PM on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Huff Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Walker and Pastor Mark Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in East Bend Friends Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Huff Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Yadkin Nursing Care Center for their love and compassionate care.
