Yvonne Patterson Brooks

Mrs. Yvonne Patterson Brooks, age 73, of East Bend passed away on Tuesday August 16, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center with her children by her side.

Yvonne was born on July 10, 1949 to the late Paul and Sally Durham Patterson in Yadkin County.  She attended Forbush High School in Yadkin County and then attended and graduated from Wilkes Community College.  She graduated with an associates degree in data processing.  She spent the last years before her retirement as the administrative assistant to the Dean of the Library of Forsyth Technical Community College.  Yvonne worked there as one of her hobbies was reading in addition to shopping with her daughter.  She also enjoyed anything Christmas and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Don Brooks, and two older brothers John Patterson and Wayne Patterson.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by her daughter Marissa Brooks; her son Marty (Ashley) Brooks; and her four grandchildren Quinton, Carter, Kydon, and Grayson Brooks.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 20, 2022 at 3pm at Enon Baptist Church with the Pastor Bill Messer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1pm-2pm prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America at demntiasociety.charityproud.org.
