Virginia Marie (Gillispie) Mabe

Virginia R. Mabe, age 89 of Tobaccoville crossed over peacefully to be with her heavenly father on Sunday, April 8, 2018. She was born February 26, 1929 in Stokes County to the late Kemp Taylor and Viola Whittington Gillispie. She was a long-standing member of Middlecross Baptist Church.

After Retiring from Carolina Narrow Fabric Company, she was a devoted in-home caretaker, who loved spending time outdoors in her garden and cooking in the kitchen. Virginia loved spending time with her loving family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Floyd Arvil Roberts and Allen (Junior) E. Mabe, daughter Nancy Cave, sons Roger Roberts and Ronnie Lee Roberts, and daughter Janet Gail Marshall.

She is survived by sons Arnold Gray Roberts (Ruby) and Arlis (Punk) Ray Roberts, daughter Elizabeth (Libby) Diane Widener (Dale), stepson Virgil Mabe, sons-in-law Calvin Cave and Ray Marshall, daughters-in-law Eileen Roberts and Janet Roberts, 13 grandchildren, one step-grandson, and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Huff Funeral Chapel with the Pastors Gene Lawson and Randal Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Methodist Cemetery in King, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
