Shirley Horton

Mrs. Shirley Horton, age 84, of Tobaccoville, was reunited with her Husband Ernest in Heaven on July 27, 2021.

Mrs. Horton was born on February 18, 1937 in Forsyth County to the late Reece T. Cecile and Lynetta Newman Cecile.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Ernest Horton; two brothers David Cecile and Donnie Cecile; and a sister Betty Moore.

Those left to cherish her memory are two sons Michael (David Reyes) Horton of Winston Salem and Tim (Lisa) Horton of Tobaccoville; one daughter Susan (Scott) Bennett of East Bend; four brothers Richard "Buck" Cecile, Paul "Teenie" Cecile, Jerry "Pooch" Cecile, and Ron Cecile; two sisters Kaye Idol and Nancy "Muggs" Shipley; six grandchildren Benjamin Horton, Christopher Horton, Stormi Roberts, Taylor Rose, Spencer Horton, and Conner Horton; and two great-grandchildren Maddox Roberts and Kaia Rose.

A funeral service for Mrs. Horton will be held on Monday August 2, 2021 at 1pm at Huff Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Honeycutt officiating.  Burial will follow in Stanleyville Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 12pm-1pm at Huff Funeral Home.
