Roy Whitman

Mr. Roy Whitman, age 95, of Winston Salem passed away on Friday October 10, 2025 at his home.

Mr. Whitman was born on October 29, 1929 in Forsyth County to the late Henry Whitman and Annie Ashley Whitman.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son Lanny Whitman.

Mr. Whitman worked for over 30 years with the NC Department of Transportation.  He was also a tobacco farmer and loved restoring old tractors.

Those left to cherish his memory are three sons Tracy Whitman, Ricky Whitman, and Phillip (Eva) Whitman; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great great grandchild on the way.

A funeral service for Mr. Whitman will be held on Thursday October 16, 2025 at 2pm at Woodland Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gammons officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1pm-2pm on Thursday prior to the service at the church.
