Ronald Cathey

Mr. Ronald Cathey, age 82, of East Bend, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday June 18, 2025.

Mr. Cathey was born on June 23, 1942 in Stewart County TN to the late Manor Cathey and Geneva Hicks Cathey.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son Charles "Chuck" Cathey.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Tammie Cathey of the home; two sons Mark Cathey of Mount Airy and Juan Espinoza of Ohio; three daughters Deborah (Tim) Wheeler of TN, Teresa Cathey of Mount Airy, and Amanda Espinoza of Winston Salem; one brother Kenneth (Mary) Cathey of Mount Airy; a grandson Jakob Espinoza of the home; and several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Mr. Cathey will be held on Saturday June 21, 2025 at 5pm at Huff Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Snow officiating.  Military honors will also be observed at the service. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at a later date in Western Carolina Veterans State Cemetery.
