Roger McConkey

Mr. Roger Lee McConkey, age 65, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Thursday February 26, 2026 at SECU Hospice Care Center in Yadkinville.

Mr. McConkey was born on August 20, 1960 in Surry County to the late James McConkey and Lizzie Jones McConkey.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Jamie (Jordan) Sumner and three grandchildren Levi, Bentley, and Cody.  He is also survived by a brother James "Jack" McConkey and a bunch of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Ashley McConkey; a brother Lonnie McConkey; a sister Debra Wilson; and both parents James and Lizzie McConkey.

A time of celebration for Mr. McConkey will be held on Monday March 2, 2026 from 5pm-7pm at Huff Funeral Home.
