Mr. Richard Gray Cromer, age 70, of Shoals, passed away on Sunday April 28, 2024 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Cromer was born on July 11, 1953 in Forsyth County to the late Billy Gray and Elva Victoria Cromer.
Mr. Cromer was a family man like no other. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren more than anything in this world. The love of his life, Patricia Cromer, was by his side for 40 years. Mr. Cromer made his way in life by becoming the best asphalt foreman and worked in the trade for more than 35 years with Warren Brothers and later retiring with Larco Construction. If you needed asphalt done and heard the Cromer name, you knew the job would be done right. Ricky was a man of his word.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cromer was preceded in death by his daughter Christina (Chrissy) Marlene "Boo-Boo" Cromer.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Patricia Lynne Cromer of the home; daughter Tina (Sammy) Dixon of Lowgap, NC; daughters Rashina (Jeff) Parker of State Road, NC; daughter Victoria Cromer of Shoals, NC; son Ricky Cromer of Pilot Mountain, NC; seventeen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister Doris Sue Gravley of Shoals, NC; brother James "Stevie" Cromer (Edith) of Winston Salem, NC; sister Teresa Allen (Frankie) of Siloam, NC; several nieces and nephews; and special brother in law and sister in law Ralph and Sharon Freeman.
A funeral service for Mr. Cromer will be held on Wednesday May 1, 2024 at 2pm at Huff Funeral Home with Mike Quesenberry and Terry Hodgin officiating. Burial will follow in Mountainview Baptist Church Cemetery. the family will receive friends from 1pm-2pm on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
