My sidekick and soul mate went home Saturday morning to his Lord and Savior. Mr. Omer "Butch" Roosevelt Dean, Jr. passed on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Woltz Hospice in Dobson.

Mr. Dean was born on July 14, 1945 in Forsyth County to the late Omer Dean Sr. and Madie Dull Dean.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Darlene "Dusty" Dean of the home; three daughters Catherine (Jerry) Copeland of East Bend, Gina "Tater" Slater of East Bend, and Stacie (Jose) Ibarra of California; and two grandchildren Darlene Caudle and Michael (Gracie) Caudle.
