Mazie Lou Johnson

Mrs. Mazie Johnson, age 92, of East Bend, passed away on Sunday June 16, 2024 at her home.

Mrs. Johnson was born on September 25, 1931 in Wilkes County to the late William Hutchison and Rosa Adams Testerman.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Hobert Johnson; a son Danny Johnson; a sister Hazel; and three brothers Avery, Billy, and June.

Those left to cherish her memory are four nieces Tammy (Tony whom was her "sugar babe") Johnson of East Bend, Tina (David) Dutrow of King, Ellen Andrews, and Gail (Danny) Potts of Kernersville; nephews Jeff Johnson, Scottie (Kathy) Johnson, and Gary Strader; a brother in law Lynn (Doris) and sister in law Carol Jean; special cousins; many of whom she considered her grandchildren; and her special babies Lydia "Levie" and Tree "Timber" Cook.

A graveside service for Mrs. Johnson will be held on Wednesday June 19, 2024 at 5pm at the Johnson Family Cemetery with the Pastor Brian Poindexter officiating.  The family will receive friends from 4pm-5pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to especially thank hospice for all of their loving care and Jerry and Judy Taylor as well as Rich Phillips.
