Mary Ellen Spillman

Mrs. Mary Ellen Padgett Spillman, age 89, of East Bend, passed away on Monday August 26, 2024 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Mrs. Spillman was born on April 26, 1935 in Henry County, Virginia to the late Emmitt Padgett and Beatrice Adams Padgett.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband John Spillman; a son Randall Spillman; a grandchild Amber Spillman; eight sisters Avis Lewis, Lucy Tuttle, Rachel Vernon, Opal Patterson, Totsie Creed, Lavern Cooke, Edna Fletcher, and Erma Sides; two brothers Terrell Padgett and George Padgett; and a daughter in law Tammy Spillman.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son Johnny Ray Spillman; a brother Ricky Padgett; grandchildren Jonathan (Jeannette) Spillman, Wendy (Scotty) Brintle, Kristi Spillman, Jessica (Larry) Cline, and Tabitha Spillman; great grandchildren Summer (Anson) Ward, Jaden (Erika) Cline, Destiny Spillman, Dylan Spillman, Ashlyn Phillips, Riley Goforth, and Aurora Durham; and tons of nieces and nephews

A graveside service for Mrs. Spillman will be held on Friday August 30, 2024 at 11am at East Bend Friends Cemetery with Pastor Eddie Tyson officiating.  Mrs. Spillman will lie in state on Thursday August 29, 2024 from 9am-4pm at Huff Funeral Home.
