Margaret May Douglas

Mrs. Margaret May Douglas, age 88, of East Bend, passed away on Saturday January 10, 2026 at her home.

Mrs. Douglas was born on February 14, 1937 in Forsyth County to the late Joseph Tuttle and Annie Merritt Tuttle.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Garrell Douglas II; a sister Joanne Freeman; and a brother Joseph "Buddy" Tuttle.

Those left to cherish her memory are three sons Sandy (Nancy) Douglas of East Bend, Garrell (Susan) Douglas of Winston Salem, and Randy (Angie) Douglas of Winston Salem; three daughters Robin (Johnny Speaks) Douglas Ely of Lexington, Debbie (Larry Lail) Holt of Walnut Cove, and Ann (Johnny) Dull of Winston Salem; two sisters Lucille Barlow and Virginia "Tinky" Welch; grandchildren Sandy Douglas Jr., Samuel Douglas,Analia Douglas, Allison Douglas, Ashlyn Douglas, Jordan Douglas, Zachary Mabe, Rachel Joyce, Johnny Joyce, Margaret Tompkins, Bradford Tompkins, Steven Holt, Richard Ely Jr., Joseph "Joey" Ely, and Athena Lassiter; and great-grandchildren Nova Kinzer, William Tompkins, Gabbie Tompkins, Turner Brady, Willow Hutchens, Issac Ely, Layden Ely, Wolfgang Ely, Callie Grace Ely, and Caroline Ely.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday January 15, 2026 at 11am at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Winston Salem.  Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Walkertown.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 14, 2026 at Huff Funeral Home from 5pm-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Vallley Hospice.
