Linda Norman Obituary

Linda “Susi” Wallace Norman died Tuesday, August 8, after navigating many years with dementia. She was 74. Susi was born in Troy, NC, to John Wallace and Gladys Sykes. She is survived by her daughter, Jenni Shafer, of Hillsborough, NC; Ellie Shafer, her granddaughter, also of Hillsborough, NC; and her sister Julia Burkhardt of New Bern, NC.

Susi graduated from Pfeiffer College in 1971, where she met and married the love of her life, William (Bill) Dale Norman, Jr. Together, they owned and operated oldies and talk radio stations. They were married for 41 years until Bill passed away in 2012. Music was a joy in both of their lives, and Susi sang along to every oldie played for her until the end.

Susi will be buried in a private graveside service on Saturday, August 12, at New Home Methodist Church East Bend, NC, beside Bill. Her kind smile and infectious laughter will be dearly missed.
