It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Larry, a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend. Larry departed from this world on Friday, March 15 surrounded by his loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Larry was born on October 7, 1949 to proud parents, Charlie Bert Sloan and Clara Stone Sloan in Sanford, NC. From an early age, it was evident that Larry possessed a zest for life and a genuine curiosity about the world around him. He approached every day with a contagious enthusiasm that touched the lives of all who knew him.
Larry was a jack of all trades but carried out his parents legacy and passion for farming. He worked endlessly to grow all the vegetables he sold for a living on “Veggie Lane”.
Beyond his work, Larry loved to hunt and fish and found solace in nature’s beauty. Outdoors was always his favorite place to be.
As we mourn the loss of Larry, let us also celebrate the incredible impact he had on our lives. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire us. May we find comfort in the cherished memories we shared with him and draw strength from the love he showered upon us.
Larry is survived by his children Keshia Sloan Christian (Tony), Claire Sloan and Emily Sloan Lett (Wayne) Sister Joyce Ann Sloan (who was his best friend and was always there when he needed a hand) brother Jerry Wayne Sloan (Bonnie). Grandchildren Kaleb Clifton (Danielle), Laken Potts (Robbie), Ethan Christian (Ashlyn), Mason Christian (Brianna), Gavin Sloan, Nevaeh Martin, Chelsy Godwin (Thomas), Jarred Lett (Ashley), Joshua Lett (Haley). 10 Great Grandchildren and a Special niece, Diane Douglas Brett along with many loved nieces and nephews.
