Mr. Kenneth Ray Kimber, age 57, of Winston-Salem passed away at his home on Thursday, September 15th.
He was born on October 18, 1964 in Yadkinville to Betty Jean Boles Kimber & the late Carl Ray Kimber.
In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his brother, Nathan (Tonya) Kimber; three sisters, Charlene (Edward) Callands, Janice Kimber & Sandra Renée (Morris) Henderson; & his nieces & nephews, Ebonée, Terrell, Tyreise, Asia, Stephanie & Elijah. He also leaves behind many other family members & countless friends that he loved dearly.
Mr. Kimber was well known in the community. He graduated from Starmount Highschool in 1982. Many friends knew him as “Texas Pete, the hot sauce kid.”
In addition to working for Ramey Construction & Yadkin Valley Nursery he was known as a local handyman. He found great joy in going into the neighborhood & helping people. He helped pick up hay, pick tobacco leaves, plant flowerbeds & pick blackberries for the elderly people that he knew. Kenneth was truly a “jack of all trades.”
If he wasn't out spending time with his many friends & family, you could find him playing horseshoes or fishing. Kenneth loved all sports, but he favored the Raiders & the 49ers as well as WWE wrestling.
