Jonathan Charles Shores, 33, of Mocksville, NC was found deceased November 20th, 2025 after a brief homicide investigation and quick response team with Davidson County Sheriff's Department.
Jonathan was born 10/03/1992 in Winston-Salem Forsyth County to the late Charles E. Shores and his mother, Ruth Rock Shores. He graduated from Forbush High School, then followed with the Army Reserves. Jonathan followed in his father's footsteps and became a carpenter for many years. He had a great sense of humor and was always willing to help in times of need. Jonathan was a loving son, father, brother, grandson, cousin and nephew. He enjoyed spending time with his children at ball games and the races. More than anything he enjoyed making people laugh.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Ruth Rock Shores and step dad Larry Dashney of the home, his children Karlee and Charles of Hamptonville, one brother Josh (Brittany) Shores of Millers Creek, two sisters Brittany Shores of Elkin, Jennifer (Austin) Kiger of East Bend, three step sisters Molly Dashney of NY, Savanna (Gunner) Roberts, and Kayla Lanier of WV, and one step brother Matt Lanier (Jessica) of WV, two uncles Jason Rock of Kernersville, Kenneth (Cheryl) Shores of WS, an aunt Charlene Lawson of Lumberton, SC. A step dad, Hank Lanier, Grand parents Linda (James) Taylor of Statesville, Jean (Jim) Cockerham of East Bend, Jeter Wayne Rock of Kernersville, six nieces, two nephews, several cousins. Special friends Katie (Landon) Robertson, Charles Silvers, Jonathan & Dave Stinson & Michael Jackson. He was preceded in death by his father Charles E. Shores, Grandfather Charles W Shores, Great Grandparents Heber (Evelyn) Ayers Jr. (Maternal) Foley & Blanche Shores (Paternal), and Aunt Robin Fulk.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Blaise Baptist Church, December 2, 2025, at 7 pm-134 Blaise Church Road, Mocksville, NC 27028.
