Obituary

Mr. James Paul Edwards, age 96, of East Bend, passed away on Friday January 13, 2023.

Mr. Edwards was born on July 25, 1926 in Davidson County to the late James Edwards and Anna Lawson Edwards.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Ethel Tucker Edwards; a son Jeff Edwards; and a daughter Gloria Holland.

Mr. Edwards served in the United States Navy where he obtained the rank of coxswain and served during ten invasions and earned five bronze stars.

Those left to cherish his memory are a son Perry (Dianna) Edwards of East Bend; two daughters Wanda (Chuck) Small of East Bend and Sylvia (John) Sherrill of East Bend; five grandchildren Kevin Small, Mandy Holland, Paige Sherrill, Nathan Sherrill, and Taylor Edwards; and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service with military honors for Mr. Edwards will be held on Tuesday January 17, 2023 at 3pm at the Edwards Family Cemetery in East Bend.  Friends are welcome to stop by Huff Funeral Home on Monday or Tuesday prior to the service to sign the register.
