Hazel Beane Obituary

It's with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our mother, Ruth Matthews Beane.

Ruth went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 21, 2025. She was surrounded by family & friends at her daughter & son-in-laws home.  Ruth was born in Yadkin County on October 31, 1930.  She was 95 years old.  With Ruths' departure, we remember a life lived with immense love & a constant sense of caring for others.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother & great-great-grandmother.  She loved her family.  She was a faithful member of Shady Grove Methodist Church & attended New Vision Church with her son, daughter & son-in-law.  She loved her church & her church family.  Her gentle hugs, warm smiles & caring words left an everlasting imprint on the hearts of those who knew her.

She worked at Indera Mills until retirement, then volunteered at East Bend Senior Center, spreading love & serving others.  Her warm smile was felt by everyone.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Beane; a great-grandson, Boone Hunter Adams; her parents, Clifton & Vernie Matthews; her siblings, Gladys Hardy, Lily Beane, Buck Matthews, Lula Bell Chambers & Tootie Owen.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sisters, Virginia "Jenny" Marler & Daphne "Dinky" Jeune; three children, Michael (Sylvia) Bean, Alan (Marla Tucker) Beane & Shirley (Eddie) Tyson; six grandchildren, Kim (Darren) Nations, Tammy (Brad) Johnson, Timmy Beane, Seth Beane, Alex (Cassandra) Beane & Hannah (Terry) Adams; her great-grandchildren, Makenzie (Larry) Welch, Austin (Justice) Heath, Kayla (Casey) Mickles, Nicholas (Hayden Buckholtz) Johnson, Kathin Tarikas, Abigail Nations, Blake Beane, Ellie Beane, Hunter Adams & River Adams; great-great-grandchildren, Emersyn Welch, Camden Heath & Easton Mickles; as well as several special nieces & nephews.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the beautiful life she lived & the love she gave so freely.  Her legacy will continue through the lives she touched & the family she held so dear.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, January 2, 2025 at Shady Grove Church in East Bend.

She will be deeply missed & forever loved.

In lieu of flowers, she requested that all donations be made to New Vision, c/o Eddie Tyson, PO Box 384, East Bend, NC 27018.

We would like to thank Huff Funeral Home for serving the Beane Family, with special mention to Joe Clay.
