EAST BEND – My sweet mother, Gloria Dean Leonard Wall of East Bend, North Carolina, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, April 24, 2025. She was surrounded by love, having visited with four of her siblings, her granddaughter, and me, her daughter. Each of us had the opportunity to share our hearts with her, offering words of comfort and assurance that it was okay to let go and join my father and brother in Heaven. She listened intently, held our hands and with understanding in her eyes, found peace in our presence. Her passing was definitely arranged with God’s perfection.
Gloria was known for her gentle spirit, witty sense of humor, boundless love and unwavering devotion. She embodied strength, forgiveness, patience, wisdom and kindness. We were so blessed to have her in our lives. She will be deeply missed.
One of eight children born to Clarence and Callie Cranfill Leonard of East Bend, Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Kent Wall (2015) and her son, Jeremy Kent Wall (1984). She is survived by her daughter, Lory Annette Wall Wells; her granddaughter, Audrea Wells; her grandson, Landon Adam Wells; and three great-grandchildren: Bryson Adam Wells, Ryla Naomi Wells and Lincoln Adam Wells.
A Celebration of Gloria’s Life will be held at New Home Methodist Church located at 3340 Smithtown Road, East Bend, North Carolina on Tuesday, April 29th. The ceremony will be at 11:00am, followed by a graveside service. Then the family will receive guests in the fellowship hall where light catering will be provided.
