Obituary
Frederick H. Lewis, age 96, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away April 4, 2023.
He was born in Dryden, New York on October 15, 1926 to the late David and Ruth (Dickens) Lewis.
He is preceded in death by his wife Helen Louise Lewis (Goodman); siblings, Cyrene, Richard, Kenneth, William, Robert, Donald; Pauline, Lillian, Esther and Arlene. He is also preceded in death by grandson, Petty Officer 1st Class Jason Dale Lewis.
Surviving family includes children, Daniel (Esther) Lewis, Darlene (James) Sindorf, Dale (Molly Baher) Lewis; Debbie (Steve) Guthrie; grandchildren, Jennie Lewis Schell, Corene (Jacob) Johnson, Brent Guthrie, Brad Guthrie, Brenda Guthrie, Anna Lewis; 8 great grandchildren; siblings, David Lewis, Paul Lewis, Kathy (Lewis) Mauk, Laura (Lewis) Curtis, and Beverly (Lewis) Hurley.
He worked out of South Euclid and Maple Heights Post Offices as a mail carrier for 32 years before he retired to Winston-Salem, NC. He was an active deacon, greeter in church and an avid gardener. Frederick always had a good joke to tell everyone, he loved to make people laugh.
He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
A graveside service for Mr. Lewis will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 13th at Crestview Memorial Park.
