Edwina Garcia

Mrs. Edwina Juanita Garcia, age 88, of Ararat, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 10, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was a member of Cross Road Baptist Church of East Bend, NC.

Mrs. Garcia was born on May 7, 1937, in Forsyth County to the late John William Cline and Fannie Evans Cline.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter Judy Lawson; a sister Helen Hicks; and a brother Vernon Marshall.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 38 years Gilbert Garcia; two sons Toby (Karen) Tilley of Germanton and Steven “Skip” (Tina) Tilley of Huntland, TN; three daughters Debbie Forrest of Galax, VA, Mitzie Bowman of Stokesdale, and Tina Murphy of Ararat; grandchildren Lori Lawson and Christie Lynch; great- grandchild Lane “Butterball” Lawson; and several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a very special friend, Kenneth Beavers.

A funeral service for Mrs. Garcia will be held on Monday December 15, 2025, at 12pm at Cross Road Baptist Church with the Pastor George Goggin officiating.  Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Winston Salem.  The family will receive friends from 10am-12pm at the church on Monday prior to the service. Toby Tilley, Steven Tilley, Marty Lawson, Daniel Hammonds, RJ Lawson, and Jay Webb will serve as pallbearers.
