Donald "Donnie" Ray Fletcher

January 27, 1956 - April 1, 2022

Donnie went to his heavenly home on April 1, 2022.  Born January 27, 1956, in Surry County, he was the ninth of ten children.  He was preceded in death by his father Paul Fletcher; mother Adelene Hutchens Fletcher; and brothers Melvin, Richard, John, Jerry, and Gary Fletcher.  Donnie survives in the hearts of the family who loved him which include sister Nancy F. Beane; brothers Ronnie, Waymoth, and Jim (Bobbie) Fletcher.  He also had many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Donnie worked at Thomasville Furniture and Leinbach Machinery most of his life.  He made many friends along the way with his generous spirit and that big grin on his face.  He loved to go fishing at the river, attending church, and spending time with his family and friends.  He spent many hours "tinkering" as he called it with lawn mowers, tractors, cars, and trucks.  Donnie always helped people in any way he could.  He will be missed by all who loved him including his beloved dog Oliver.

The family would like to thank Dr. Eugene Pachold and the incredible staff members and nurses at Novant Health Cancer Institute, Winston Salem, NC and Mountain Valley Hospice in Dobson, NC. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Donnie.  A family visitation will be held 6pm-8pm on Tuesday evening at Huff Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2pm at Huff Funeral Home with the Pastor Marty Wood officiating.  Burial will follow in Forbush Friends Cemetery.
