In Loving Memory of David 'Kent' Hammond

Kent Hammond, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his devoted wife Danna, loving daughter Laurel and her husband Mark, and his cherished grandchildren Benjamin and Dylan. He also leaves behind his three sisters, Cheryl, Leslie, and Jodi, who were a constant presence in his life.

Kent was a fun-loving and energetic child who thrived outdoors. Whether skating, sledding, riding bikes, or playing “kick the can,” he embraced every opportunity to be active. But above all, Kent loved baseball. From a young age, he showed a natural talent for the game, excelling as a pitcher and third baseman. He spent countless summer days on the ball field and continued playing well into his teen years. Some of his early practice sessions became family lore—especially those that ended with a broken window or two.

He was also an avid skier, always eager to hit the slopes and enjoy the crisp mountain air. That same adventurous spirit extended to the water—he and his father once built a canoe and paddled across the lakes of Minnesota, a journey that sparked a lifelong love of being on the water.

Later in life, Kent cherished time spent boating and waterskiing with his wife, daughter, and close friends. Summers at the lake became treasured family traditions, filled with laughter, sunshine, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Kent will be remembered for his sense of humor, kind heart, and adventurous spirit. He had a natural ability to connect with others and brought warmth and joy to every room he entered. His legacy lives on in the family who adored him, the friends who cherished him, and the countless memories shared throughout a life well-lived.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
