Dan Bishop

Mr. Dan Bishop, age 94, of East Bend passed away on Monday May 3, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Bishop was born on August 15, 1926 in Anderson County, TX to the late Clarence Bishop and Jesse Bishop.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Lois Bishop.

Mr. Bishop served 49 years as a missionary to Japan.

Mr. Bishop will be remembered for his uncompromising and unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, his infectious laugh and quick wit, his sense of humor (with a mix of mischievousness), his thoughtfulness of others, his impeccable integrity and his love for the Japanese people. 

Those left to cherish his memory are a son Paul (Susan) Bishop of Lexington, SC; a daughter Rebecca Bishop of Tobaccoville; one brother Jim (Laura Sue) Bishop of Slocumb, TX; one sister Jackie Kitcher of Palestine, TX; and three grandchildren Joel, Kayla, and Jeremy.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Bishop will be held 3 pm on May 22 at Faith Baptist Church, 4840 East Old US Highway 421, Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

Out of abundance of caution and consideration for all, the family requests that guests consider wearing face coverings.
