Charles "Charlie" Hall Obituary

Charles (Charlie) Hall, 30, a resident of Rural Hall, NC, passed away at his home on February 8, 2025.

Charlie was born on December 16, 1994 to the late James Sr. and Nairani Hall, the last of 5 children. He grew up in King, NC and graduated from West Stokes High School in 2013. After High School he earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Piedmont International University and a Master’s Degree in Greek and New Testament Studies from Biola University. For the past 3 ½ years he had been working as a Data Integrity Specialist in the Advancement Department at Wake Forest University. He loved his Wake Forest Family and was so grateful for all their support and compassion during his health struggles.

In addition to his educational accomplishments and career success, Charlie was a man of many talents and passions – one of the most obvious being music. He played saxophone in the West Stokes Marching Band and used YouTube videos to teach himself how to play guitar. The first time he ever played and sang in public was at his mother’s funeral. However, what helped him grow in these gifts more than anything else was his connection to Bridges Church and the mentorship of Pastor Patrick and their worship leader, Doug. This eventually led to Charlie serving as the worship leader himself for several years and learning piano and drums. But he didn’t just play music – he loved listening to music and looked to it to help him celebrate life, mourn loss, and express his own struggles. Charlie would be so happy if everyone could benefit from the songs that meant so much to him. You can listen to some of them HERE.

But Charlie’s greatest love, his greatest passion, was his children, Olive and Haddon. He was so proud of their beauty, intelligence, talents, and character and never missed an opportunity to brag on them or share photos. He loved them fiercely and wanted above all things for them to be happy, healthy, and successful.

In addition to his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie & Alma Hall and George & Flossie Weiss, and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his children, Olive & Haddon Hall; ex-wife and dear friend, Jasmine Hall; partner, Eliese Ashline; siblings, Catrina (Jim) Groves, James (Angela) Hall, Jr., Alicia Hall, and Anthony (Tiffany) Hall; nieces and nephews, Heather, Kayla, Shayna, Justin, Haley, Dakota, Jackie, J.C., Eli, Ryleigh, and Grant; uncle, John Weiss; aunts, Shirley and Lena Fay Hall; guardians and dear friends, Erik & Katie Christian; and many cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday February 15, 2025 at Huff Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pinnacle Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1pm-2pm on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to honor Charlie by supporting his children.
