Carrie Ann Russell Nelson

Mrs. Carrie Ann Russell Nelson, age 84, of Pfafftown, passed away on Wednesday April 5, 2023 at her home.

Mrs. Nelson was born on June 13, 1938 in Haywood County to the late William Russell and Jane Rathbone.

She attended Germanton United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son Robert Rathbone Jr. and a grandson Tyler Daniel.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Michael Nelson of the home; two sons Danny Rathbone of Advance and Michael Rathbone of Winston Salem; a daughter Sheila Rathbone Robbins of Winston Salem; a stepson Greg Nelson; a brother Eugene (Dee) Russell of Waynesville; four grandchildren Bobby, Russell, Samantha, and Tyler; and six great-grandchildren Connor, Logan, Lillian, Dallas, Joshua, and Nasir.

A funeral service for Mrs. Nelson will be held on Wednesday April 12, 2023 at 11am at Huff Funeral Home with the Pastors Bob Nations and Billy Ferguson officiating.  Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons.  Mrs. Nelson will lie in state from 10am-11am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Germanton United Methodist Church 3652 NC Hwy 8 & Hwy 65 Germanton, NC 27019.
