Billy Ray Collins

EAST BEND, NC. Mr. Billy Ray Collins, 79, died at 1:30 PM on Tuesday February 22, 2022 at the SECU Mountain Valley Hospice home in Yadkinville, NC.

Mr. Collins was born in Yadkin County to Andrew and Annie Collins. Surviving are his wife, Wanda Johnson Collins, of the home and two daughters, Mrs. Teresa Szaro and Dr. Sharon Collins, both of Winston-Salem, NC. Billy Ray is also survived by two siblings, Nancy Wooten and Tommy Collins, three grandchildren, Renee Hennings, Bobby Hennings, and Rose Presnell, and one great granddaughter, Charlotte Gonzalez.

Funeral services will be held at Huff Funeral Home on Friday, February 25, 2022  at 2pm with Pastor George Goggins of Crossroad Baptist Church presiding. Burial will follow at East Bend Methodist Cemetery on River Street in East Bend, NC.  The family will receive friends from 12pm-2pm on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank the members of the church and community who provided support and kindness during his illness. The staff of Mountain Valley Hospice went above and beyond in the compassionate care provided during a very difficult time.
