Betty Hutchens Thompson

On Friday, January 20th, 2023 Betty Jo Thompson, beloved mother, went to meet Jesus. Betty was born on March 10, 1943 to the late Beaufort and Anna Hutchens. Betty was a graduate of East Bend High school. She will forever be remembered for her sweet disposition, and giving spirit. Betty loved the Lord, her family, reading and traveling. Betty is preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra “Sissy” Norman; brothers, Ray Hutchens, Thomas Hutchens; sisters, Louis Collins, Francis Jordan, and Dottie Choplin.

Remaining to cherish her memory are her sons, Ravon “Cooter” Johnson, Junior Thompson (wife Laura Thompson); brother Grady Hutchins (Brenda Hutchins); grandchildren, Laken Moxley (Grant Moxley), William Norman, and Jacob Thompson; along with several beloved nieces nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will take place on Tuesday January 24, 2023 at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend, N.C. at 3pm with the Pastor Brian Poindexter officiating.  Burial will follow at Allen Johnson Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
