Alfred Shade

Mr. Alfred Franklin Shade, son of the late Dwight Shade and Bertie Ross Shade, was born March 22, 1952 in Catawba County. He was called to rest on February 9, 2021 at Carolina Caring of Catawba Valley after an extended illness.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Simeka Surratt; two brothers Robert S. Shade and Norman E. Shade; and two sisters Dorothy Shade Pope and Bernice Gore.

Loving memories will always remain in the hearts of his family.  He leaves to cherish his memory two sons Roderick and Terrence; a daughter Johnna; three brothers Dwight (Barbara) Shade Jr., Jimmy (Sandra) Shade, and Howard (Teresa) Shade; two sisters Betty (Tommy) Wilson and Dynetta Shade all of Hickory. Alfred also leaves to cherish his memory ten grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

A graveside service for Alfred will be held  at Southside Cemetery in Hickory at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring Hospice.
