Mr. Virgil Edward Flynn, 85, of Yadkinville, passed away peacefully at his home on the evening of Sunday, July 9, 2017.

He was born on May 21, 1932, to Zella Soflorianna Flynn of Yadkin County. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time outside working in the garden or tinkering on a car or motorcycle.

Mr. Flynn was preceded in death by his mother, by a brother Kenneth Gray Flynn Sr. by a son Edward Dean Flynn by a daughter, Sheila Flynn Clark and by a grandson Charlie Monroe Flynn.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years Faye Adams Flynn, of the home, a son Earl (Marilyn) Flynn of Hays, and three daughters Audrey (Bobby) Mahan of East Bend, Tammy (Tracy) Horne of Yadkinville, and Cindy Flynn (Joseph Lee) of Yadkinville. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Mr. Flynn will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Huff Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Poindexter officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Huff Funeral Home.

The family would like to express deep appreciation to Pennie Boyd and Christy Renegar and the rest of Mt. Valley Hospice for their loving care and support.
