Ruth Elizabeth (Hunter) Blakely

Ruth Elizabeth Blakely, age 100 of East Bend passed way on Sunday February 17, 2019 at her home.

She was born on August 30, 1918 in Forsyth County to the late Thomas Hunter and Ela Jester Hunter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Irvin Blakely, and a son Billy Ray Blakely.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son John Lyndon Blakely of East Bend; a daughter Ruth Ann Wall of Hamptonville; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mrs. Blakely will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11am at Huff Funeral Home with the Pastor Brian Poindexter officiating. Burial will follow in Stony Knoll United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6pm-8pm at Huff Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice.
