Gary Wilson Fletcher, 65, fondly referred to as “Gooch” of Tobaccoville, NC left his earthly home to be reunited with his Savior on July 8, 2018. While I shed tears of sorrow to be without him here, I also shed tears of joy as I imagine the inexplicable happiness he has finally received in being reunited with his sons, Gary Alan Fletcher and Paul Douglas Fletcher, after suffering the tragedy of losing each of them here on Earth.
He is also graciously welcomed to heaven by his parents, Paul Fletcher and Adelene Hutchens Fletcher, brothers John, Melvin, Richard, and Jerry Fletcher, and a host of beautiful friends and family members.
Those left to carry his memory include his cherished grand-daughter, Kayla Fletcher, sister Nancy Fletcher Bean, brothers Waymoth Fletcher, Jim (Bobbie) Fletcher, Donnie Fletcher, Ronnie Fletcher, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gary spent his life pursuing fun. He was an enthusiast of vehicles, especially classics and an exceptionally talented mechanic. Gary valued family and it brought him immeasurable joy to have a meal with family, spend time with them in his shop, and enjoy a beer together.
We find comfort in knowing he is sharing a beer with Jesus and his sons, and he is preparing a seat for us at his table. Romans 8:35-39.
A memorial service will be held at 7 pm on July 13, 2018 at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers and to honor his adored rescue, Nut-Nut, donations can be made to the Forsyth Humane Society at 4881 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104 or on the web at https://www.forsythhumane.org/donate-now
