William Smith Obituary

Mr. William Lowe Smith Jr., age 80, passed away on Wednesday January 24, 2024 at his home.

Mr. Smith was born on August 27, 1943 in Fulton County, GA to the late William Smith Sr. and Margie Poindexter Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years Jackie Smith of the home; a son Phillip (Teresa) Smith of Winston Salem; a brother Billy Joe Smith of East Bend; three grandchildren Kristin (Brian) Tolley of Clemmons, Brittany (Conner) Leonard of Clemmons, and Matthew (Maddy Flynn) Smith of Winston Salem; and one great-grandson Jackson Gore of Clemmons.  He also leaves behind multiple nieces & nephews.

Mr. Smith had a strong love for his family.  His true passion was auto racing with his grandson Matthew. He was on the wall of fame at Caraway Speedway where he won many races throughout the years. He also enjoyed working on his classic cars.

A graveside service will be held on Monday January 29, 2024 at 2pm at Friendship Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Poindexter officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1pm-2pm on Monday at Friendship Baptist Church.
