Richard Theodore Cecile

Mr. Richard "Buck" Theodore Cecile, age 85 of East Bend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday night, February 14, 2024 at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living in Mt. Airy.

He was born on September 18, 1938 to the late Reese & Lynetta Newman Cecile in Guilford County.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Sheila Cecile of Pilot Mtn., two brothers, Jerry Cecile of Tobaccoville & Ronald "Pete" (Jennifer) Cecile of King; two sisters, Nancy Shipley of Pinnacle & Kay Cecile Idol of Kernersville; three grandchildren, Krystian Cecile, Dixie Cecile & Rylee Chambers; as well as his best friend, Fredricka Cecile of King, NC.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cecile was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul Cecile, Donald Cecile & David Cecile; as well as two sisters, Betty Cecile Moore & Shirley Horton.

During life, Richard proudly served our beautiful country in the United States Army.  After his honorable discharge he dedicated his time to raising his daughter & loving his family.  When he wasn't spending his time with his loved ones, he had a career in the construction field doing grading work.

A funeral service for Mr. Cecile will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, February 18, 2023 at Huff Funeral Home, with Pastor Zack King officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow the service at Elm Grove United Methodist Church in Pfafftown.  A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1:00pm.
