Mrs. Mattie Sue Southern Mabe, 76, of Westfield passed away on September 1, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center.

She was born on May 14, 1940 to the late Philo and Mozelle Fulk Southern in Stokes County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Lonnie Southern.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Tim Mabe and wife Rani of Walnut Cove, a brother Roy Lee Southern of Walnut Cove, two sisters Mary Mabe and husband Boyd of Danbury, and Nancy Young of Westfield, a grandchild Anisha Mabe who she loved dearly and her fiancé Matt Mitchell of Walnut Cove.  She also leaves behind many special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mabe will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Cedar Falls Primitive Baptist Church with Rodney Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before services at the church. Memorials may be made to the Cedar Fall Cemetery Fund or the donor’s choice.
