Mrs. Mary Lou Parrish joined her heavenly father September 5, 2016 after a period of declining health. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and caring husband, Sammy Parrish, daughter Brenda Hutchens (Grady), and grandson Michael Hutchens.

She was preceded in death by her parents McKinley and Lucy Doss, brothers Wade, Kerney and William (Bud) Doss, sisters Nezzie Lackey and Estelle Hutchins.

Survivors include nephews Roger Lackey, Tommy Doss, Joe Doss, nieces Wanda Matthews, Sheila Johnson, Darlene Wright, brothers-in-law Tommy Vanhoy (Geraldine), Terry Martin (Joann), Leonard (Bud) Martin (Jeannette), sister-in-law Jane Scott (Jerry).

Mary Lou was employed by RJ Reynolds for 30 years. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 7, 2016 at Faith Community Baptist Church at 4 PM with  Pastor Brian Poindexter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service at 3-4 pm,
