Ria and Frank were married for 26 years before divorcing. She made her home in Clearwater and Palm Habor, Flordia before moving to Rural Hall, NC with her son Kenny due to her health.

She was known for her thick German accent, German cooking, and commanding nature. “Do you hear me?!” was a common question in the household.  Ria was a beautiful lady, her red hair and great sense of style always shined! She was always unselfishly giving and had a gift to give to everyone. A florist by trade, she had the great gift of design and decoration. Not only did she love making arrangements for her family and friends, but for her church as well. Ozona Community Church in Ozona, FL still use and cherish her arrangements today. Ria’s life most of all, was about her family. Not only was she a caring and loving sister, Ria was a loving, praying, mother. She was always giving what she had to her children.  She made it a priority to spoil her grandchildren with “Nana’s care packages” on birthdays and holidays, filled with German toys and treats. Ria might have only been 5ft tall, but she had so much love to give.  Her love and guidance did not end with her children and grandchildren, but carried on to sons and daughters in law. She loved the Lord. As she got sicker, her walk with the lord got stronger and stronger. She is with him now, walking on the streets of gold, with no pain, surrounded by the by her loved ones that went before her. She is at peace with Jesus - where she wanted to be.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Huff Funeral Home 212 E. Main Street, East Bend, NC 27018 with Pastor David Frankenfield officiating.
