Mrs. Laverne Thompson Jordan, age 77 of East Bend passed away on Friday June 24, 2016 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center.

Mrs. Jordan was born on May 22, 1939 in Orange County to the late Edgar Thompson and Treva Ray Thompson.  She was a retired sewing machine operator from Indera Mills.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 57 years Wardell Jordan of the home; one son Ken Jordan and wife Shirlene of Mississippi; two daughters Teresa Muncus and husband Jody of Boonville and Kathy Jordan and fiancée Matt Manzo of Pinehurst; one sister Linda Gilmore of Robins; four grandchildren Maria Hill and husband Trae, Meagan Terry and husband Scott, Evan Jordan, Andy Muncus, and Emily Muncus; one step grandchild Ksenia Manzo; one great grandchild Jordan Hill; and three step great grandchildren Mason Groce, Alexis Groce, and Skylar Collins.

The family would like to thank the staff at Yadkin Nursing Care Center as well as Dr. McGrath for the loving care they provided for Mrs. Jordan.

A funeral service for Mrs. Jordan will be held on Tuesday June 28, 2016 at 11am at Huff Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Shallowford Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at Huff Funeral Home.
