Mrs. Laura Lee Davis, 81, Baltimore Road, passed away peacefully in her home Thursday morning. She was born in Yadkin County to the late Roy F. and Edith Speer Spillman. Laura attended East Bend High School where she was the graduating class of 1954. Her high school class reunions were an event that she enjoyed attending. She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church in East Bend where she was actively involved in many children’s programs. Laura and Patty Davis played a vital part in the development of their first Vacation Bible School. Family and friends were Laura’s passion and delight. While her sons were small, Laura and her husband enjoyed local site-seeing in and around North Carolina. As her grandchildren were born, her home became the gathering place for many family gatherings throughout the year. Easter egg hunts, badminton, and games of wiffle ball in the front yard became very competitive. Laura spent hours in the kitchen sharing her love for cooking with her family. She looked forward to annual family reunions. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Stark Richard Davis, of the home; two sons, Richard Terry (Tena) Davis and Stark Eddie Davis; one sister, Treva Vestal; five grandchildren, Misty (Brent) Berrier, Russell (Lindsey) Davis, Bradley Davis, Claire Davis and Joshua Davis; two great-grandchildren, Chezney Norman and Brielyn Berrier. Family will receive visitors at Shady Grove United Methodist Church from 2 - 3pm on Sunday, December 3rd prior to the service by Reverend Doctor Lauren Anderson at 3pm. Burial will follow at Shady Grove United Methodist Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center / Davie Team at 377 Hospital Street, Suite 103, Mocksville, NC.
