Kreisler Speas

September 24, 1935 ~ December 19, 2016 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Mr. Kreisler Speas, age 81 of Pfafftown passed away on Monday 19, 2016 at home.

Mr. Speas was born on September 24, 1935 in Forsyth County to the late Murphy Speas and Ethel Key Speas.

Mr. Speas played 2 years with the St. Louis Cardinals baseball farm team.  He served his country in the US Army.  He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobaccoville Company after 34 years of service.  He faithfully served in many lay roles at his lifelong church Tabernacle United Methodist Church.  He loved spending time with his family and friends with a special fondness for bluegrass music.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Speas was preceded in death by a sister Sue Dell Brown.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years Wanda of the home; a son Rick (Lesley) Speas of Winston Salem; a daughter Judy (Paul) Gerritson of Durham; two brothers Orlice (Bonnie) Speas of Rural Hall and Wilburn Speas of Tobaccoville; and two grandchildren Christen Speas and Jonathan Speas.

A funeral service for Mr. Speas will be held on Thursday December 22, 2016 at 2pm at Huff Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Tobaccoville.  The family will recieve friends on Wednesday evening from 5pm-7pm at Huff Funeral Home.  Flowers will be acepted or memorials may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church or to Old Town Baptist Church.
