Mrs. June D. Tyson, age 84, of East Bend passed away on July 9, 2017 at Woltz Hospice Home.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Tyson, her parents Guy and Louise Davis Smitherman, a son William Tyson, and a brother Guy Smitherman

Mrs. Tyson was born on March 25, 1933 in Forsyth County.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son Eddie Tyson and wife Shirley of East Bend; two brothers George Smitherman and David Smitherman and wife Judy of East Bend; a sister-in-law Carolyn Smitherman; two grandchildren Tammy Johnson and husband Brad and Kim Nations and husband Darren; and five great-grandchildren Austin Heath, Kayla Heath, Makenzie Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, and Abigail Nations.

A funeral service for Mrs. Tyson will be held on Wednesday July 12, 2017 at 4pm at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Lauren Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 3pm-4pm at the church prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shady Grove United Methodist Church or to Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.
