John, age 84, passed away on Saturday January 21, 2017  peacefully at the home of his daughter Shirley Tyson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Alice Beane.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters Ellen, Mozelle, and Polly; one brother; and one great grandson Boone Adams.

John is survived by his wife Ruth of 63 years; two sons Michael (Sylvia) Beane of Pinnacle and Alan (fiancé Marla Tucker) of King; one daughter Shirley (Eddie) Tyson of East Bend; one sister J.P. Marler of East Bend; five grandchildren Tammy (Brad) Johnson of Yadkinville, Timmy Beane and Alex (Cassandra) Beane both of East Bend, Seth Beane of Walkertown, and Hannah (Terry) Adams of Pinnacle; four great grandchildren Makenzie,  Nicholas Johnson, Kathan Beane, and Blake Beane; several nieces and nephews and two special nieces Jan Hardy and Deborah Moser; an adopted granddaughter Kim (Darren) Nations and adopted great grandchildren Austin and Kayla Heath and Abigail Nations.

John’s favorite things were playing any string instrument such as guitar, banjo, and mandolin, music in general, and spending time with his family.  He spent two years in the Army stationed in Alaska.

A graveside service with full military honors by VFW Post 10346 will be held on Wednesday January 25, 2017 at 2pm at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with the Pastor Eddie Tyson officiating.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice (Yadkinville) or to New Vision Church PO Box 384 East Bend, NC 27018.
