Mr. Jackie R. “Shorty” Johnston, age 78 of East Bend passed away peacefully on Saturday June 11, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Johnston was born on April 30, 1938 in Logan County, WV to the late James and Alice Pratt Johnston.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Herman Johnston and Jimmy Johnston.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years Juanez Johnston of the home; two sons James Johnston and wife Debra of Morganton, NC and Tyrone Johnston and wife Leilani of East Bend; one daughter Alicia Johnston of East Bend; one brother Harold “Pete” Johnston of Nashville, TN; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and his two other wives Carolyn Music and Judy Dasher.

A memorial service for Mr. Johnston will be held on Tuesday June 14, 2016 at 2pm at Huff Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davie County.
