Cynthia Sloop Hutchens, 63, of Boonville passed away on May 24, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center after a brief illness.

Cynthia was born on September 16, 1951 to Oma K. Sloop of Jonesville and the late Everette A. Sloop of Elkin.

Cynthis is survived by three children: son Richi Thomas Wood of Elkin, daughter April Wood of Elkin, and son Bradley Hutchens of Yadkinville; a sister Amy S. Nelson of Elkin, five grandchildren: Ashlee N. Burns of Boonville, Amanda B. Burns of Elkin, Dillon T. Wood of Elkin, Jessica L. Wood of Elkin and Sammy E. Wood of Elkin, and three great-grandchildren: Bentley Smith, Bailee Walker, and Camden Wood, niece Allison Reid, and nephews Brian Wood and Greg Sloop.

Cynthia was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Elkin. She was a giving, kind, and caring person who loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren unconditionally.

We love you and will miss you. Go to that place called Heaven where there is no main or worry or suffering, Amen.

A funeral service for Ms. Hutchens will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Friendship Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Huff Funeral Home.
