Mrs. Cara “Matt” Hammock, age 71 passed away on Wednesday March 2, 2016.

Mrs. Hammock was born on September 26, 1944 in Lincoln County to the late John Leggins and Ida Richards Leggins.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 31 years Joseph Hammock of the home; four sons Charles Smith of Hickory, Bobby Smith and wife of Hickory, Douglas Smith of King, and Joseph Hammock Jr. and wife of Conley Springs; five daughters Tomica Dennis of East Bend, Concheta Hammock of Tallahassee, FL, Anita Curry and husband of Alabama, Bonita Hammock of Conover, and Sheila Mullins and husband of Tallahassee, FL; one brother Johnny Leggins of Newton; twenty two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A funeral service for Mrs. Hammock will be held on Monday March 7, 2016 at 2pm at Huff Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Hammock Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday Night from 6pm-8pm at Huff Funeral Home.
