Mr. B. “Buck” Arnold Matthews, age 82, of East Bend passed away on Wednesday March 22, 2017.

Mr. Matthews was born on April 29, 1934 to the late Clifton and Vernie Lineberry Matthews in Yadkin County.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Jessie Willard Matthews and two sisters Lillie Beane and Lulu Chambers.

Those left to cherish his memory are: three sons, Eddie Matthews and wife Wanda, Ronnie Matthews, and Dannie Matthews, all of East Bend; five sisters, Gladys Hardy of Clayton, Ruth Beane of East Bend, Virginia Marler of East Bend, Frances Jeune and husband Eddie of Pfafftown and Myrtle Owens of East Bend; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Mr. Matthews will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Dr. Lauren Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 pm-2:30 pm at Huff Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice of Yadkinville, P. O. Box 1267, Yadkinville, NC 27055 or Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 4201 Shady Grove Church Rd, East Bend, NC 27108.
